Мои коллеги описали его так:
10 provinces (and three territories) and we pretty-much have a different name for this holiday everywhere. Have a look at the provinces from west to east at the right.
For God sakes, the city of Ottawa can't even agree with the rest of Ontario – the province it's in – on what to call this day.
And of course, Monday’s holiday is actually on a different “jour” in Québec – that's the way it is those Guys…
Your friendly Canadian ... will be out Monday, not particularly caring what the name of the day is, so long as it's sunny and the beer is cold!
Happy Celebrating-Diversity Day! See you Tuesday!
We can’t agree on this, either. But it doesn’t matter:
· British Columbia – British Columbia day
· Alberta – Heritage Day
· Saskatchewan - Saskatchewan day
· Manitoba – Civic holiday
· Ontario – Simcoe Day
· Ottawa – Colonel By Day
· Quebec – ”The day we go across the river to Ottawa because we already had our party back on St. Jean Baptiste Day in June” Day
· New Brunswick – New Brunswick Day
· PEI – Natal Day
· Nova Scotia - Natal Day
· Newfoundland – “Who's that crazy lost guy in the RV with the Ontario plates?” Day
